Bitcoin network hashrate — the estimated energy securing the chain, in EH/s — with history and the honest estimation caveat.
An estimated 917 EH/s of hashpower is securing the chain — inferred from difficulty and how fast blocks arrive over a recent window, not counted directly, so short-run figures are noisy. Read the trend, not any single point.
History
A statistical estimate from mempool.space (public/btc-difficulty.json), as of 2026-08-31. Block discovery is random, so a short-window estimate can swing a few percent; never presented as live.
How it's computed
Hashrate isn't measured, it's inferred: from the current difficulty and how quickly blocks are actually found, the implied hashpower is back-solved (roughly difficulty × 2³² ÷ block-time). We use mempool.space's estimate, shown in EH/s (exahashes per second; 1 EH/s = 10¹⁸ hashes/s). It is a recent-window statistical estimate, not a count.
Why there's no band
No band. These readings — difficulty, hashrate, hashprice, and the production-cost floor — are level, estimate, and model readings; there's no valuation ceiling to place them against, so unlike Mayer or Puell there's no cheap/fair/expensive axis. Each carries a value and an as-of date, never a band, and never the live cyan badge.
